Myc-Linker (inc. start codon)
Flexible linker with integrated Myc-Tag that can be used to create fusion proteins. Inculsion of the Myc-Tag allows for easier expression verification using westerblot (using the myc antibodies). This linker is used by van Steensel lab to create Transcriptionfactor Methyltransferase (Dam) fusion proteins and has thus been verified to have no or minimal impact on the function of either. This linker was also verified by iGEM Amsterdam 2012 to have no significant impact on the expression of its attached Methyltransferase (M. ScaI).
Usage and Biology
This linker was verified to have no significant impact by experiments done on the BBa_K874100 & BBa_K874101 composite parts used in the iGEM Amsterdam 2012 project.
